Prepare your allergic home for spring

For allergy sufferers, this is a sign that it’s time to prepare for a fight against a never-ending runny nose and other annoyances.

In order to be able to function normally during the pollen season, it’s a good idea to prepare your apartment accordingly. This will minimize the discomfort felt in a place that should be our refuge.

Prevention instead of treatment

It is best to start preparations before the pollen season even begins. Air out bedding, vacuum and pack extra blankets and carpets – dust catchers – in airtight plastic wrappings as early as the beginning of March, as soon as the weather warms up a bit (most of the mites responsible for allergic reactions die at low temperatures, so even airing out on cold days is worthwhile).

The battle for air

What triggers allergies are pollen and other airborne allergens. That’s why it’s worth taking care of the air quality. Automatic air purifiers are one of the best ways to do this, but even keeping an eye on the humidity level in your room can alleviate some symptoms – dry air further irritates the airways.
