Do you know which coffee varieties baristas distinguish? Read the article and find out the differences between robusta, arabica and blend coffees.

Robusta and arabica

The most common varieties of coffee are arabica and robusta. Arabica is distinguished by its mildness and rich aroma and contains less caffeine than robusta, so it can even be consumed several times a day.

Arabica usually produces a light to medium roast coffee that differs from robusta in its higher acidity and pleasant sweetness. It is ideal for pour-over brewing and tastes great without milk

Modern bean preparation methods and the characteristics of the regions from which they come make it possible to obtain a variety of coffees with many aromatic notes. These include arabica beans with aromas of chocolate, cocoa, fruit, spice and even bread crust

You can find a wide selection of coffee beans at https://mkfresh.pl. Keep in mind that coffee tastes best when it’s freshly ground, so it’s worth investing in an electric grinder or a coffee maker with a bean-grinding function.

What are origins coffees?

Single origin coffees, or origins, is the name applied to coffees whose beans were grown within one geographic area, one growing region, or even the same harvest. As a result, the flavour of the beans is usually specific to that location. It’s important to know that the best single origin coffees are those that allow you to identify the plantation

There are many factors that need to be considered in order to produce high-quality origin coffee. Climatic conditions, suitable soil, and the method used to harvest, process and roast the beans are all important. By taking care of all these parameters single origin coffee is distinguished from others by its excellent flavour and aroma

When choosing a single-origin coffee, it’s worth considering your preferred flavor profile and where the beans come from. The most delicious coffees are grown in the so-called coffee belt, which covers the area between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn, where conditions are best suited to plantations.

Particularly noteworthy is coffees from brazil. Grains grown in the local microclimate acquire characteristic delicacy and sweetness. They are also usually characterized by low acidity. You’ll find many mild Brazilian coffees on the market with flavours of chocolate, honey, hazelnut, caramel, orange or jasmine. Try a composition with flavor notes of honey and molasses and aromas of hazelnut and milk chocolate.

Recommended by baristas, a variety of Brazilian coffee is Yellow Bourbon, which is distinguished by its soft, creamy texture and sour citrus notes. The bean’s aroma is reminiscent of orange blossoms and jasmine, and thanks to the right roasting process, it can also have scents of cherry or cardamom

This variety of coffee can be brewed in a flask or espresso machine but a coffee machine or a filter coffee maker will also work well.

For whom will blends work?

Blends are compositions of two or more types of coffee beans. Thanks to the work of roasters and baristas on the market there are blends for different preferences and brewing methods. Blends best reflect the characteristics of each type of bean, which is why they are often used for espresso, the base on which most of the most popular coffee drinks are later created.
